Twin Oaks Christian School Announces a New Head of School

May 14, 2018

Dear Twin Oaks Christian School Community,

Many of the faithful over a period of eighteen months have been hard at work and deep in prayer that this day would finally come. God has seen fit to answer our prayers and complete our task as He has made plain the person of His choosing to lead our school. Man’s volition and God’s sovereignty have led us to extend a call to Dr. David M. Schall as our new Head of School. He has accepted the call in advance of the 2018/19 school year. Please join me and the school board in praising God for this day of uncommon dispensation.

Dr. Schall has been active in Christian education for twelve years at Westminster Christian Academy. There, he has served in various capacities and is currently Dean of Students, primarily responsible for student discipline. He holds an EdD in Instructional Leadership, an MS in Kinesiology, as well as a BS in Physical Education/Health. He and his wife, Stephanie, have two children who will be also attending our school. Next year, Madeline will join the fifth grade class, and Colton will join the third graders. See below for a more detailed bio. Dr. Schall will be attending the, “Hello & Goodbye” reception Tuesday, May 22, at 7:00 p.m.

Alas, when the transition is completed, we bid farewell to our dear sisters in Christ, Sherry Blough and Debbie Stair. The faith of these two joyful educators kept our school strong and safe, instructive and Christ centered. The board would also like to thank the parent community for their support and affections towards them over the past two years. May we say well done, good and faithful servants and also offer a special thanks to your spouses, Carl & Doug. We wish you every success and extend our deepest gratitude.

We especially praise God for the work of our search committee. Many hours of selfless toil went into the search for the calling now before us. Bound by faith and unified by Grace, the group represented views considered vital to all who comprise the Twin Oaks Christian School community. Members from the board, faculty, staff, parents, church members and non members, officers and session labored together and submitted to God in this process. And may we state also our indebtedness to each of their families who freely supported the committee during the many nights away from home. The work is theirs, the glory is His. Amen.

Lastly, we would like to commend the faculty and staff, who continued without hesitation to carry out the daily task to which they were called. Through it all, the classroom and administration remained as they should be with children edified, families blessed, and God honored.

For the future, we can expect more hard work and further need for extensive prayer. Please pray for Dr. Schall and his family as they transition to a new calling, new church, new school, and many new faces in their future. Pray for peace for the family. So also, please be in prayer for the greater school community that we may remain united in the cause of Christ in our school. And as always, please pray for the board as we preside over the governance of the school and all that lies before us.

Grace and Peace

Timothy Adcock

President, Twin Oaks Christian School Board

Dave Schall was raised in Fenton, MO but has lived in several other cities because of his involvement in college and professional soccer. Having always wanted to be a teacher and coach, Dave was able to do just that beginning in 1996 in public schools such as Rockwood Summit, McCluer North, and Northwest-House Springs, before being called to Westminster Christian Academy in 2006. For nine years at WCA “Coach” Schall taught Physical

Education and Health while also serving as Physical Education Department Chair and Director of the Strength & Conditioning program; a program that supported several team and individual State champions.

After feeling the call of the Lord to move further into school leadership Dave completed his Doctorate degree in Instructional Leadership from Lindenwood University and began serving WCA as Dean of Students in 2015. In this role Dr. Schall oversaw student discipline, was involved in teacher observation and assessment, diversity education, student activities, student leadership, and Westminster’s Faith in Action program. Dave continues to research the area of leadership extensively, concentrating specifically on how successful leaders get buy-in from those they lead. In fact, that was the focus of his doctoral dissertation. As a member of Chesterfield Presbyterian Church Dave was deeply entrenched in Men’s Discipleship as well as serving in the two and three- year old Sunday school rooms.

When asked about joining the Twin Oaks community, Dave stated: “Throughout this process we have seen God’s fingerprints on so many aspects. From the timing of when and how everything happened, to the people Stephanie and I have met along the way, the experiences we’ve had have felt so natural and right. We look forward to continuing to build relationships and connecting with the faculty, staff, and families of Twin Oaks.”
