How Old is the Earth?

Creation Science Sun PM copy.jpg

On June 16 Dr. Andrew Snelling held a lecture titled Rock Dating Methods & the Earth’s Age. In case you missed it, the lecture may be found HERE on our YouTube channel.

Radiometric dating is based on several assumptions.

  • How valid are those assumptions?

  • Can their validity be tested?

  • What do science and the Scriptures teach us about the age of the Earth?

Dr. Andrew A. Snelling - a highly qualified scholar and scientist – will bring an impressive depth of research and practical field experience to bear on these questions.

Dr. Snelling has a Bachelor of Science in Applied Geology from the University of New South Wales, Australia and a Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Sydney, Australia.  He has worked in industry and academia and has published numerous papers in creationist literature (e.g., Creation Ex-Nihilo Technical Journal) as well as mainstream scientific literature, such as the Journal of Geochemical Exploration.

Revival Prayer Weekend

Revival Prayer Weekend - “History is silent about revivals that did not begin with prayer.”

~ Edwin Orr

The session of Twin Oaks Church is calling our people to a time of fasting and prayer for revival the weekend of March 8-10, 2019. Rev. All Baker, PCA evangelist, will be leading us.

“We all want to see the local church engaged in local ministry and world missions, to see our people energized to serve the Lord gladly with their time, talent, and treasure. ..  But merely announcing that we will do these things is not enough. We must:

  • seek the Lord,

  • believe that if we seek Him:

    • He will let us find Him,

    • if we seek Him with all our hearts.”

Al Baker

It is a time of special emphasis on prayer, called by the Session of the local congregation or Presbytery. We will include fasting as part of our prayer. We encourage all who are able, to observe a period of fasting until Saturday afternoon. Here is a link to a good article on fasting - Fasting for Beginners.

Friday night, March 8. The leaders of the church and their wives, will gather to seek a vision for Revival Prayer.

Saturday, March 9: A day of teaching and prayer for the entire congreagation. All are encouraged to attend the entire day, but at least one session. Each session is divided between teaching and prayer.

  • 8 am to 10:30 am, “Gaining the Intolerable Burden”. What do we mean by Revival Prayer?

  • 10:45 am to 12:45 pm, “The Ten Marks of the Revival Culture.”

  • 1:00 to 3:45 pm, “Making Your Church a House of Prayer for the Nations,” and “Take Aways” from the day.

  • 3:45-4:00+ pm, Break our fast with a light snack and fellowship.

We would love for everyone to attend all of the sessions, but understand it’s not always possible. But please make time to attend at least one. And please sign up HERE.

Sunday, March 10: Al Baker will preach on revival and evangelism

We pray for and long for God to move in our hearts and our community.
