TOPC & COVID-19

We are worshipping together on  Sunday mornings at 10:30am. We are following the St. Louis County guidelines for capacity.  If you are considered at-risk or unable to attend in-person, a livestream of the worship service is available. Please register for worship and nursery by Thursday, as this helps us gauge seating capacity and prepare the nursery adequately.
WILL I BE TURNED AWAY IF I DON’T REGISTER?
  • We never want to turn people away from worship. The plan right now is to seat those who don’t register in an overflow section. But that seating is limited too. THE MORE PEOPLE REGISTER, THE BETTER WE CAN PLAN.

WHAT KIND OF CHANGES CAN I EXPECT FROM WHAT WE ARE USED TO ON SUNDAY MORNING?
  • The following events/services will be suspended for now:
  • Offering plates will be placed at the back of the sanctuary.
  • Seating will incorporate recommended distancing and will therefore be reduced

DO I NEED A MASK?
  • All adults should wear masks once they enter the church. Greeters will have extras available for those who forgot them. Masks should be worn, especially when speaking or singing.
Children from 3 years upward should wear a mask if possible. As a minimum, children should be able to reliably cover up a sneeze or cough with their elbow. If you have younger children who cannot reliably cover their sneezes/coughs or are not able to wear a mask, please consider watching remotely until restrictions are lifted.

WHAT PRECAUTIONS IS THE CHURCH TAKING?
  • Only the narthex entrances will be used.
  • Greeters and Ushers will wear masks.
  • Greeters will open doors to minimize the frequent touching of communal surfaces.
  • Frequently touched surfaces (door handles, counter tops, faucet/toilet handles) will be sanitized prior to the service. Also ushers will be available to clean on-going.
  • All volunteers will be screened prior to assuming duties
  • Hand sanitizer and wipes will be placed throughout high traffic areas
  • Music and scripture passages will all be in the bulletin. No need to handle hymnals or pew bibles.
  • Masks will be required once entering the church building

HOW WILL WE BE SEATED GOING IN?
  • Ushers will seat you as you enter the sanctuary, filling the sanctuary from front to rear. We will not be able to save “your spot.” Consider this a great opportunity to sit near people you don’t normally see in worship.
  • Ushers will hand you your bulletin as you take your seat.
  • Social distancing guidelines must be met in the narthex while waiting to be seated. Spacing is marked on the floor.

HOW WILL WE EXIT THE BUILDING?
  • Following the benediction, ushers will dismiss people by rows, starting from the front of the church. Please exit as you are directed as expeditiously as possible.

Per St Louis County COVID guidelines, please stay at home if you or anyone in your family:
  • Have had close contact in the past 14 days with a person diagnosed with COVID, traveled out of the United States in the last 14 days, are feeling ill, have a fever of 100.4 degrees or more,  an unexplained new or worsened cough, shortness of breath or trouble breathing,  muscle aches, or chills, sore throat and new loss of taste or smell.

WE WANT TO STRESS: Coming to live service is not a sign of spiritual valor. Watching from home is not a sign of spiritual weakness. We love each other and deeply desire the best from and for each other. Please, please pray for unity of spirit among us and that Jesus would be glorified in all we do.
