Fall 2017 Bible Study - Colossians & Philemon

Watch/Listen to Lectures HERE.

The morning Bible study will use the Knowing The Bible study guide for Colossians & Philemon. The author, Christopher Beetham writes:

Paul's letter to the Colossians is a jewel of Christian Scripture. Only four chapters long. It is easy to read through in one sitting, yet it provides stunning vistas of the perfections of Christ that few other New Testament documents can match in such short space. Its majestic hymn of Christ at 1:15-20 is rivaled only by that of Philippians 2:5-11. The letter therefore provides a feast for the theologian to digest. Yet Colossians also pulsates with a message that, despite the limits of the situation for which it was originally written, remains as relevant and significant as ever.

The Tuesday morning study will meet from 9:15 to 11:30am beginning September 12th through December 5th. The study guide cost is $10.

A Children’s Program is offered for children Pre-K and younger for the morning study only.

The evening study group will use a study guide on Colossians written by our own Dr. Bob Stuart. Bob writes:

In the book of Colossians, the Apostle Paul emphasizes the preeminence of Christ. Our all-sufficient Savior is the Creator God, who rules heaven and earth. Christ is not just a teacher; He is Yahweh Himself. Paul confronted the false teaching in Colossae, which had found its way into the church. The same threat of false teaching faces the church community today. Believers guard against such error through Bible study that goes beyond a discussion of subjective thoughts, experiences, and impressions. This study is intended to help students of the Bible wrestle with the text of Scripture.

The evening group will meets from 5:45 to 7:45pm through November 14th.
