Russell St. John
Lead Pastor
Russ hails from Washington State, and is a lover of sunshine, college football, preaching, his family, and dogs. He loathes both cats and vegetables. After studying history at Washington State University (Go Cougs!), he pursued a Master of Divinity at Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, and has served both as a pastor and an active duty Navy Chaplain. Russ earned a Doctor of Ministry and a PhD, both in the field of preaching, and delights in Christ-centered, expository preaching through books of the Bible. Along with serving Twin Oaks, he is a visiting instructor at Covenant Seminary, where he trains students to preach. When not working, you might find Russ reading, napping, writing, fishing, or just enjoying his family. Russ and his wife, Amy, have been married for twenty plus years, and are the parents of six children, one German Shepherd, and a Great Dane. Russ joined the staff in February of 2014 and delights to serve Christ and the people of Twin Oaks.
David Barnes
Associate Pastor
David joined the Twin Oaks staff in the Fall of 2016, as he began his M. Div. studies at Covenant Theological Seminary. After graduation in May of 2019, he was called to full-time service among the Twin Oaks family. He oversees children and student ministry, and community groups. He echoes Psalm 22:10, and rejoices in the grace upon grace he has received from the fullness of Christ. Blessed throughout his life by the faithful shepherding of pastors, and elders, he counts it a weighty joy to care for the souls of those at Twin Oaks. His wife Crystal, and their four children, previously served as missionaries with Mission to the World in Madrid, Spain, from 2012 to 2015. If not pastoring, or parenting, David enjoys an impromptu Costco date with his wife, or spoiling a good walk with a round of golf.
