Dr. Robert Stuart - Pastor of Shepherding and Leadership

Dr. Robert Stuart is Pastor of Shepherding and Leadership. He returns to Twin Oaks, having served as Interim Pastor from 2011-2014. A former lawyer and skeptic, Bob came to Christ through the witness of his wife, Deena. Married for forty-seven years, Bob and Deena have three children and nine grandchildren. He truly believes that he, like any believer, is a “child of the living God” and a trophy of God’s amazing grace, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Christ” (Col 2:7).

Bob grew up near Plymouth, Massachusetts, and attended Villanova University. Upon graduation he was commissioned as a lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps, seeing combat in Vietnam. After the Marine Corps, he attended The Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary and practiced law for a number of years. After coming to know Jesus as Lord and Savior, he went to Princeton Theological Seminary, graduating with the Master of Divinity degree. He also holds the Doctor of Ministry degree from Reformed Theological Seminary and has served as an adjunct professor at Knox Seminary, Reformed Theological Seminary, and New Geneva Seminary.

Dr. Stuart loves baseball, having played in college. He has also coached high school baseball and basketball. He enjoys golf, puzzles, and telling stories to his grandchildren.
